How Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) affect the course of daily life

Myers-Briggs Type Indicator or MBTI is a personality test that very well known for its accurancy and ease of use. It includes 4 words to completely describe yourself. I or E? According to Carl Gustav Jung in L. Naisaban (2003 : 22), human have two types of personality which is introvert or extrovert. That mean how you get your energy, is it just chilling with yourself (I) or you need to hangout with some friends to be fully charged (E). Also Carl Jung adduce his opinion about four functions of human personality are sensing, intuition, thinking, and feeling or well known as Jung Psychological Types. Let me try to explain about this psychological types. Sensing vs intuition depends on how you receive and process information you get, concretely (S) or abstractly (N)? Thinking vs Feeling which indicates how you make a decision, you often use logic (T) or your feelings much more (F)? Last dimention is perceiving vs judging which measure human’s degree of flexibility or simply means how you orient yourself in the world, are you a type of person who relies on systematic plan (J) or you are the one who act spontaneously (P).

I’ve done MBTI test two times and the results are always INFP, stands for introvert, intuitive, feeling, and perceiving. After I complete this test I always curious “is it accurate?” “did this result really describe me?” So I was like, watching myself lately depending to the theory that I’ve got on some journals in the internet. The result are… first, to increase my energy I need to rest my whole body and my mind so it turns out correct that I’m an introvert.

Next, the second dimention, I’m sure that I’m the type who didn’t have a high curiousity but after I received my MBTI test result I feel like I must take responsibility to it. So from then on I can’t think simply and swallow information visibly. At first it made me complicated to think that way, but slowly I’m starting to like learning about the ins and outs of an information or problem. Third dimention was correct, didn’t need to research about this one because I conscious always put my feelings forward instead of logic to determine something.

The last dimention, I got perceiving. But to be honest I’m in between. Sometimes I used to be super sistematically, everything must’ve done step by step. But there’s day when I being all of sudden lazy and just doing everything off-the-cuff without a plan.

The conclusion, MBTI was accurate but couldn’t be 100%. But it’s quiet great if you just wanna know about yourself better than before. In my case, it also can affect my daily habits, it suggest me to change in a good way. If you wanted to do the test just go search 16personalities on your browser.
